About Shark Specialty Tools
Shark Specialty Tools supplies document binding and finishing equipment from East Belknap Street in Fort Worth, Texas — comb, coil and thermal binding machines, hole punches and the ring and comb stock that goes with them.
Punch capacity is the number that limits you
Binding machines are advertised on bind capacity — the thickness of document the finished comb or coil will hold. That number is not what slows you down. Punch capacity is: how many sheets the machine will punch in one pull of the handle. A 450-sheet binder that punches twelve sheets at a time is a twelve-sheet machine as far as your afternoon is concerned. We list both figures separately.
Which binding for which job
- Comb Binding — plastic combs that reopen, so pages can be added or swapped later
- Coil & Thermal Binding — coil for documents that must lie flat or fold back on themselves; thermal for a clean glued spine and a finished cover
- Punches & Binding Supplies — standalone punches, ring sets and comb stock
Manual or electric
A manual machine is cheaper, quieter and fine for occasional runs. An electric punch earns its price the first time a two-hundred-page tender has to go out before the close of business. Each listing states which it is, and the comb or coil diameters the machine accepts.
Trade and single orders
We supply both trade customers and people buying one machine. Shipping charges, timings and the returns window are set out on the Shipping Policy and Return & Refund Policy pages.
